The truth is that no matter what someone else does there will always be a flaw that sticks out to a bully. Bullying has been around for the longest time and probably will never go away. Children wake up scared to face another school day and adults dread having to deal with another work day, all because those are environments where bullying most often takes place. Bullying is a very serious problem in the world today and it goes unnoticed. Bullying isn’t just a face to face encounter. There are multiple types of bullying. Such as physical, verbal, social and cyber. Physical bullying involves any kind of force on another person, verbal bullying involves hurtful comments. Social bullying uses any relationship to hurt another person. Then there is cyber bullying which takes place over the internet or cellphone. Out of the four different types of bullying the most common form used is verbal. Studies have shown that more than 16,000 students are absent from school because they’re getting bullied and there is nothing done about it. Bullying is a very serious act. This lowers the vi ctim s self-esteem and leads to self harm and suicide attempts. Victims of bullying are 10% more likely to have health problems as they age. As a result of being bullied people turn to drugs, smoking, and alcohol to cope with their stress.
